WASHINGTON, D.C.—Omega Network For Action, Inc. (ONFA), a national 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to advocacy, education, economics, and empowerment, proudly endorses Dr. Raymond E. Smith, Jr. for election to the United States Congress representing North Carolina’s 3rd District.
Dr. Smith’s life is defined by service, discipline, and a deep commitment to his community. Born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina, he was shaped by the example of his parents. His father’s service as a United States Marine and his mother’s eighteen years on the Wayne County School Board instilled in him a strong sense of duty, integrity, and public responsibility from an early age.
A decorated combat veteran, former educator, and two-term member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing Wayne and Sampson Counties, Dr. Smith brings a breadth of experience that reflects both leadership and service. His military background underscores a commitment to protecting the nation, while his work in education and public office reflects a dedication to strengthening communities at home.
Dr. Smith is a proud graduate of Goldsboro High School and holds three degrees from Historically Black Colleges and Universities: a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management from North Carolina A&T State University, a Master’s in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, and a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Fayetteville State University. These institutions helped shape his perspective on service, opportunity, and the importance of accessible pathways to success.
Throughout his time in public service, Dr. Smith has demonstrated a clear understanding of the needs of working families, veterans, students, and underserved communities. His leadership in the General Assembly reflects a focus on practical solutions and a commitment to representing the voices of those he serves.
