The Omega Network for Action proudly endorses Doug Jones in his campaign for Governor of Alabama. A lifelong Alabamian, Jones has built a career grounded in public service, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of people across his home state.
Jones served as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, where he handled some of the most difficult and consequential cases in the state’s history. Most notably, decades after the tragic 1963 bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham that killed four young girls, Jones reopened the case and successfully prosecuted two former Ku Klux Klan members responsible for the crime.
In 2017, Jones made history by becoming the first Democrat elected to the United States Senate from Alabama in a quarter-century. During his time in office, he supported bipartisan legislation to create jobs, advance economic development, strengthen small businesses, and promote workforce training. He also worked to protect and restore veterans’ benefits, advocated for improved health services and resources for Alabama’s veteran population, and backed infrastructure investments critical to the state’s ports, roads, and waterways.
Throughout his public service, Jones has remained focused on civil rights, voting rights, fairness, accountability, and expanding opportunity for all Alabamians.
