With more than four decades of distinguished public service, Isaiah Hugley represents the kind of steady, results-driven leadership that communities depend on. A proud graduate of Talladega College and Mississippi State University, Hugley’s career began in public policy and evolved into a legacy of impactful leadership in Columbus, where he has served as City Manager since 2005.
During his tenure, Hugley has demonstrated exceptional executive leadership, overseeing annual operating budgets exceeding $360 million, managing capital projects totaling more than $1.2 billion, and leading a workforce of over 3,300 employees. His ability to guide Columbus through periods of growth and challenge speaks to his experience, discipline, and commitment to effective governance.
Beyond his administrative leadership, Hugley has consistently invested in the future of the community. His work as an educator at Columbus State University, combined with his service on numerous boards and his mentorship of emerging leaders, reflects a deep and ongoing commitment to civic engagement and community development.
